Gabriel Gongora was named the Dominican University 2016 Male Athlete of the Year after the junior goalkeeper was the 2015 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Co-Defensive Player of the Year, the first goalkeeper in NACC history to garner Defensive Player of the Year honors.  On the season, Gongora posted a 10-4-3 mark in goal with a 0.86 goals against average and five shutouts while combining for an additional three shutouts. Gongora faced 174 shots on the season, posting a .795 save percentage with 58 saves.  Gongora logged a season-high ten saves as the Stars played regionally ranked WashU to a 1-1 draw on the road.
