Christina Wilson was voted the 2016 Dominican University Female Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive academic year after the senior setter led the Dominican University women’s volleyball team to a 25-10 overall record and a trip to the NCAA Division III National Tournament for the fourth time during her outstanding career.  In earning her second Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Player of the Year honor, the Homer Glen native became just the third member of the Dominican University women’s volleyball program to garner AVCA First Team All-Region honors and receive honorable mention for the AVCA All-America Team.  Wilson collected 1,420 assists in 2015 which ranks second on the Stars’ single-season assist list and ranked fourth across all of Division III women’s volleyball this season.  Wilson ran the Stars’ offense to perfection as Dominican posted a NACC-best .192 hitting percentage while averaging better than 13 kills per set.  During her senior campaign, Wilson posted a conference-best 24 double-doubles, including a 41-asssist and 27-dig effort in a five-set win over Edgewood College in the conference tournament championship match.
