The Dominican University men's soccer program pushed its current winning streak to nine games with a 2-0 win at Edgewood College on Saturday. Sophomore Alex Rowley (Lake Zurich, IL) scored his second game-winning goal of the week, notching his fourth goal of the season in the 61st minute.
Junior Matt Kochanowski (Arlington Heights, IL) added an insurance goal for the Stars in the 71st minute. The goal was Kochanowski's team-leading 11th goal of the season and the 5'10" forward has logged at least one point in each of the Stars' last nine games.
Junior goalkeeper Piotr Sliwa (Chicago, IL) picked up the win in goal for the Stars, recording two saves to pick up his fifth shutout of the season. As a team, the Stars, five games into Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) play, have not been scored upon in NAC play yet this season and have posted a string of six consecutive shutouts overall.
Dominican returns home for a NAC contest with Aurora University on Wednesday, October 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Dominican's West Campus Field.
