Stars Clinch 2007 NAC Championship

River Forest, Ill. - Dominican University's Juan Saldana (O'Fallon, MO) tallied four goals on Saturday as the Stars clinched the Northern Athletics Conference regular season championship with an 8-0 win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders.

Plamen Pamukov (Addison, IL) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the seventh minute on an assist from junior Matt Kochanowski (Arlington Heights, IL). The goal was Pamukov's tenth score of the season and the assist was Kochanowski's first of four assists on the day.

Saldana scored the next four goals for the Stars, the first coming in the ninth minute and the last score in the 51st, as the Stars jumped ahead to a 5-0 lead.

Kochanowski scored the Stars' sixth goal in the 61st minute, scoring off a rebound of a Saldana shot. The goal was Kochanowski's team-leading 12th goal and his first goal in five games dating back to September 29.

Sophomore Michael Roder (Waukesha, WI) tallied his first career goal in the 66th minute and then Nico Toro (Chesterfield, MO) capped off the Stars' scoring with his third goal of the season in the 70th minute.

Dominican has one regular season contest remaining and will travel to University of Wisconsin--Whitewater on Wednesday, October 24 for a 3:00 p.m. match up with the Warhawks.
