Stars Win at Rockford

River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's soccer team got back in the win column on Tuesday afternoon with an 8-0 victory at Rockford College in Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) play.

Mayra Camacho (Summit, IL) paced the Stars' offense, netting three goals and tallying three assists. On the season, the 5'4" junior forward leads the Stars with 14 goals and eight assists and recently became the Stars' all-time leader in points, currently boasting 151 career points with 66 goals and 19 assists in 48 games played.

Five other Stars netted goals for the Stars in the win with Catherine Petty (Crystal Lake, IL) and Rebecca Markey (Omaha, NE) each scoring their first goal of the season while Michelle Reynoso (Burbank, IL) netted her seventh score of the season, Rosa Andreuccetti (Elmhurst, IL) scored her third goal of the season and Kelsey Holloway (Cape Girardeau, MO) added her second goal of the year.

Sophomore goalkeepers Jacqui Lani (Green Bay, WI) and Brandi Disterhoft (Colona, IL) combined for the Stars' fifth shutout of the season. As a team, the Stars' logged four saves as Dominican outshot Rockford 29-10 and held a 17-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Dominican University will return to the field on Saturday as they host Concordia University (WI) for a 3:30 p.m. game on Dominican's West Campus Field. The match is the second match of a doubleheader with the Dominican University men's team hosting Concordia University (WI) for a 1:00 p.m. match.
