River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's tennis team improved to 7-5 overall and 6-3 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) with a win over Benedictine University 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Stars swept doubles play with Eileen Shanahan (New Lenox, IL) and Julia Filipski (St. Charles, IL) winning at number one doubles 8-3 and Molly Nolan (Shorewood, IL) and Gina Cesario (Addison, IL) edging Benedictine's number two doubles team 9-8. Nadia Pencheva (Hoffman Estates, IL) and Ivana Debro (Berwyn, IL) teamed up as the Stars' number three doubles team and won their flight 8-5.

In singles play, Filipski knocked off Benedictine's number one singles competitor 6-2, 6-0 while Cesario, Nolan and Erika Corona (Berwyn, IL) were victorious as the Stars' number three, four and five singles competitors respectively.

Dominican will travel to Milwaukee, Wis. to take on MSOE on Wednesday for their final match of the regular season. The Stars will then compete at the NAC Championships on Saturday and Sunday, October 6 and 7 in Madison, Wis.
