The Dominican University women's volleyball team fell 3-0 to Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, Wis. on Thursday night. Maranatha swept the Stars in three games 30-24, 30-23, 30-27.
Defensively the Stars stood strong, logging 86 digs as a team in the three-game match averaging over 28 digs per game. Sophomore Megan Moore (Glendale Heights, IL) paced the team with 18 digs followed by Darcy Kammeier (Kirkwood, MO) and Lindsey Cochran (Bourbonnais, IL) who posted 17 digs and 16 digs respectively.
Kammeier logged double-digit kills for her 12th straight match, leading the Stars with a game-high 11 kills on 44 attack attempts.
The Stars, who posted 26 service aces against Marian College last Saturday, recorded a season high in service errors with 15 in the match while logging just three aces.
Dominican will play Edgewood College in Madison, Wis. on Friday. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in Edgewood's Edgedome. The Stars then return home for a match against Trinity Christian College on Saturday as part of the university's homecoming festivities.
