Stars Fall to Titans

River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University men's basketball team fell to 1-2 on the season with a 69-67 loss at Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday, November 24. The Stars' leading scorer on the season, 6'7" Mike Haiduc (Chicago, IL), fouled out with over two minutes to play after logging 11 points and seven rebounds in just 22 minutes of work.

Five players scored in double-digits for the Stars in the losing effort led by Haiduc and junior Dan Borys (Crown Point, IN) who scored 11 apiece while Rashim Lettsome (Waukegan, IL), Jose Garcia (Kenosha, WI) and Andre Smith added ten points apiece.

Dominican shot over 46 percent from the field (26-for-56) and from three (7-for-15) but managed to convert on less than 50 percent of its free throw attempts, going 8-for-17 from the foul line.

The Stars return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Eureka College before opening the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) season on Saturday as they travel to Aurora University to take on the Spartans, tabbed to win the 2007-2008 NAC Championship in the preseason coaches' poll.
