The Dominican University men's soccer team improved to 5-2-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the Northern Athletics Conference with it's second conference win in as many days, rolling over Marian College 8-0. Eight different players scored for the Stars with senior defender Elvin Perez (Chicago, IL) being credited with the game-winning tally with a goal off a corner kick in the sixth minute.
Perez, Nick Kowalski (Niles, IL), Jose Ramirez (Chicago, IL) and Stan Micic (Mt. Prospect, IL) all notched their first goals of the season. Plamen Pamukov (Addison, IL), Juan Carlos Saldaña (O'Fallon, MO), Alex Rowley (Lake Zurich, IL) and Matt Kochanowski (Arlington Heights, IL) rounded out the Stars' offensive onslaught with one goal apiece. Kochanowski added two assists while Saldaña, Pamukov, Mark Golik (Mt. Prospect, IL), Rigoberto Barajas (Chicago, IL) and Mike Roder (Waukesha, WI) each logged one assist.
Dominican outshot the Sabres 25-2 on the day and held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks, dominating the possession and pace of play.
Piotr Sliwa (Chicago, IL) and Miguel Mondragon (Broadview, IL) combined for the shutout in goal for the Stars.
Dominican will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to North Park University for a match with the Vikings. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at North Park's Holgrem Stadium.
