River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's tennis team improved to 3-1 in Northern Athletics Conference play and 3-3 on the 2007 season with a 6-3 win at Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday.

The Stars were victorious at numbers one through four in singles play, led by seniors Eileen Shanahan (New Lenox, IL) and Bozana Durman (Cicero, IL) at numbers two and three respectively. Shanahan posted her third win at the number two singles position defeating the Warriors' Rachel Wendt 6-3, 6-0 while Durman handed Wisconsin Lutheran's Shannon Censky a loss 6-0, 6-1.

Julia Filipski (St. Charles, IL) and Gina Cesario (Addison, IL) also posted singles victories for the Stars. Filipski pulled out a 7-5, 7-5 victory at number one while Cesario won her match as the Stars' number four singles 6-3, 6-4.

In doubles play, Shanahan and Durman teamed as the Stars' number one doubles team and posted an 8-3 victory while Filipski teamed with senior Molly Nolan (Shorewood, IL) for an 8-1 victory at number two doubles.

The Stars continue NAC play this week, traveling to Aurora University on Wednesday and hosting Lakeland and Marian colleges on Saturday.
