The Dominican University men's soccer team picked up their eighth straight victory and improved to 8-2-0 overall and 4-0-0 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) with a 3-0 win over Benedictine University at the Sports Complex in Lisle on Tuesday night.
Sophomore Alex Rowley (Lake Zurich, IL) netted his third goal of the season, scoring what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 27th minute. Junior forward Matt Kochanowski (Arlington Heights, IL) tallied an assist on the play, recording a point in eight straight games.
The score 1-0 into the 83rd minute when senior forward Nick Kowalski (Niles, IL) netted an unassisted goal, his second goal of the season. Just two minutes later, in the 85th minute, freshman Edwin Rodriguez (Chicago, IL) scored his first career collegiate goal to put the Stars ahead 3-0.
Dominican outshot Benedictine University 19-5 in the contest and held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Stars will return to NAC action on Saturday when they travel to Madison, Wis. to take on the Edgewood College Eagles. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:15 p.m.
