The Dominican University women's soccer team pushed their current win-streak to five games on Wednesday afternoon with a 3-0 shutout victory over Wisconsin Lutheran College in Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) action.
Junior Mayra Camacho (Summit, IL) gave the Stars a 1-0 goal in the 30th minute on a penalty kick after the Warriors were called for a hand-ball in the box.
The score remained 1-0 into the second half until freshman Rosa Andreuccetti (Elmhurst, IL) notched her second tally of the season, beating the Wisconsin Lutheran goalkeeper with assists on the play from Camacho and Michelle Reynoso (Burbank, IL). Camacho then capped off the scoring with her tenth goal of the season in the 90th minute.
The Stars dominated possession in the game, outshooting their NAC counterpart by a 32-3 margin, including 19 shots in the second half. Dominican also held a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jacqui Lani (Green Bay, WI) picked up the shutout in goal for the Stars, logging two saves in the contest. The shutout was her third shutout of the season and improved the team's overall record to 5-3-0 on the season and a perfect 5-0-0 in the NAC.
Dominican will travel to Madison, Wis. on Saturday for a NAC match against Edgewood College. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
