The Dominican University women's volleyball team fell to Lakeland College, the front-runner in the Northern Athletics Conference, 3-0 (30-20, 30-15, 30-24) on Friday night. The loss dropped the Stars to 0-3 in the conference and 3-13 on the season.
Freshman Darcy Kammeier (Kirkwood, MO), the team's leader in kills on the season, paced the Stars' offense with ten kills on 29 total attacks. Fellow freshman Kasey Kiepura (Vernon Hills, IL), a 5'9" middle, added eight kills of her own on 27 total attacks and logged six total blocks with four solo blocks and two block assists in the losing effort.
Defensively, Kammeier and sophomore Megan Moore (Glendale Heights, IL) each recorded 15 digs to lead Dominican.
The Stars return to action on Saturday as they host Marian College for a 3:00 p.m. game at Dominican's Igini Sports Forum.
