Sophomores Jessica Salinas (Bolingbrook, IL) and Lisa Julkowski (Chicago, IL) combined to score 47 points as Dominican rolled over the Alverno College Inferno Wednesday night 68-48 in Milwaukee, Wis.
Salinas, the Stars' leading scorer on the season at 18.2 points per game, scored a game-high 24 points on 10-for-14 shooting from the field and was 4-for-5 from the free throw line. It was the 13th time in 19 games that the 5'10" forward has led the Stars in scoring.
Julkowski, a 5'7" guard, chipped in 23 points in the winning effort, going 6-for-13 from the field, including 3-for-5 from three, and was perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe.
The Stars dominated the Inferno on the glass, holding a 51-27 advantage in rebounds. It was the Stars largest rebounding advantage, and second highest rebound total, of the season for the Stars. Crystal Gant (Bolingbrook, IL) and Wioleta Koziol (Mt. Prospect, IL) led the way for the Stars on the glass, logging nine rebounds apiece while Julkowski and Salinas grabbed eight boards apiece.
The win improved the Stars record to 5-14 overall and 4-9 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC). Dominican will return to action on Saturday as they host Lakeland College. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Dominican's Igini Sports Forum.
