Men's Soccer Flies Past Falcons

River Forest, IL - The Dominican University Stars upended the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons 3-0 on Saturday to move their overall record to 11-2-0 and remain a perfect 9-0-0 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC).

Freshman Lionel Tovar (Cicero, IL) netted his sixth goal of the season, as he scored in the 28th minute to put the Dominican ahead 1-0. The unassisted goal was Tovar's team-best fourth game-winning goal of the season.

In the 74th minute, senior Matt Kochanowski (Arlington Heights, IL) scored his team-leading 13th goal of the season as he scored off of a corner kick off the foot of sophomore Michael Kapusta (Bartlett, IL). Kochanowski is currently the NAC's second-leading goal scorer, despite missing five games on the season due to injury.

Freshman Edwin Lagunas (Waukegan, IL) scored an insurance goal in the 82nd minute. The goal, assisted by Kochanowski, was Lagunas's sixth goal his rookie season.

Piotr Sliwa (Chicago, IL) picked up his eighth shutout of the season and lowered his goals against average to 0.40 and leads the conference in both shutouts and goals against average.

Dominican will travel to Concordia University Chicago on Tuesday for a match with the River Forest rival. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
