River Forest, IL - The Dominican University women's soccer team rolled over the Rockford College Regents 6-0 on Wednesday afternoon picking up the team's eighth shutout of the season and improving to 9-2-0 on the season and 7-1-0 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC).

Dominican's Catherine Petty (Crystal Lake, IL) scored the first goal of the game in the third minute of play as she beat the Regents' keeper from 25 yards out. The goal proved to be the game-winner and was Petty's first career game-winning goal and the fourth goal of the sophomore defender's career.

Thirty-four minutes passed before the Stars netted their second score of the game, the longest scoreless stretch of the game for Dominican. Dulce Melo (Chicago, IL) gave Dominican the 2-0 advantage as she tallied her first goal of the season as she found the back of the net in the 37th minute. Rosa Andreuccetti (Elmhurst, IL) notched the Stars' third goal in the 50th minute of play with Alex Mooney (Festus, MO) picking up the first of two assists in the game.

Karly Kuranda (St. Charles, IL) tallied Dominican's fourth goal of the game in the 57th minute with Mooney picking up an assist on the play. Stephanie Starkey (Lake In the Hills, IL) put Dominican ahead 5-0 with her second score of the season in the 77th minute. Sophomore Michelle Reynoso (Burbank, IL) capped off the Stars' scoring as she netted her sixth goal of the season in the 84th minute.

The Stars completely dominated the stat sheet, logging 30 shots with 22 shots on goal and four corner kicks in the contest while holding Rockford to just three shots, two on goal, and one corner kick. Dominican stands in second place in the conference with just three regular season conference contests remaining on their schedule. The Stars will host Greenville College on Saturday in non-conference play and then return to NAC action on Tuesday, October 7 as they travel to defending conference champion Aurora University.
