River Forest, IL - The Dominican University women's volleyball team fell to 5-12 on the 2008 campaign as they lost to in three sets (25-16, 25-21, 25-20) to Lakeland College in Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) action on Friday night. The loss was the Stars' third loss in conference play, dropping them to 0-3 in the NAC.

Freshmen Kellie VanVoorhis (LaPorte, IN) and Evelyn Gamboa (Chicago, IL) paced Dominican on offense, tallying six kills apiece. VanVoorhis committed just three attacking errors on 13 attack attempts while Gamboa logged a team-high 25 total attacks.

Defensively, junior Megan Moore (Glendale Heights, IL), the Stars' libero, racked up a team-high 17 digs in the losing effort.

The Stars return to the court on Saturday as they travel to Fon du Lac, Wis., to take on the Marian College Sabres and the Lawrence University Vikings in a triangular at Marian. The Stars face off with Marian at 11:00 a.m. and Lawrence at 1:00 p.m.
