The Dominican University women's soccer team fell 3-2 in double overtime to the Greenville College Panthers on Saturday evening.
After jumping out to a 2-0 lead behind a pair of goals from freshman Karly Kuranda (St. Charles, IL), the Stars surrendered a pair of goals in the final 13 minutes of regulation to force the sudden death overtime.
After neither team could push across a goal in the first ten minutes, the Stars and Panthers retook the field in the second overtime. In the 107th minute of play, the Panthers broke the 2-2 tie to hand the Stars just their third loss of the season.
Greenville held a 19-14 advantage in shots but the Stars managed to put ten shots on frame to the Panthers' nine.
The Stars will return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Aurora to take on the Aurora University Spartans in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) action.
