The Dominican University men's soccer team coasted to its tenth win of the season, posting six goals in the first half of play on Wednesday night in a 6-1 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College in Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) action.
Freshman Lionel Tovar (Cicero, IL) scored his fifth goal of the year, notching what proved to be the game winner in the 19th minute to give Dominican a 2-0 lead.
Matt Kochanowski (Arlington Heights, IL) added three of his own while sophomore Edwin Rodriguez (Chicago, IL) and Plamen Pamukov (Addison, IL) netted one goal apiece to round out the Stars' first half offensive barrage as Dominican dominated play for the first 45 minutes, outshooting the WLC Warriors 29-1 on the half and 39-3 in the game.
The lone goal surrendered by the Stars came in the 56th minute and is just the third goal the Stars have allowed in NAC play in eight games this season.
The win improved the Stars to 10-2-0 overall and 8-0-0 in the NAC. In fact, the game was the Stars' 27th regular season contest in the NAC since the conference's inception in 2006, and Dominican has yet to suffer a defeat in NAC regular season action posting a 26-0-1 record in the conference during that stretch.
On Saturday, Dominican travels to Mequon, Wis., to take on the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
