Dan Borys poured in a team-high 20 points as the Dominican University men's basketball team fell 75-41 to the Concordia University Chicago Cougars in Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) action on Tuesday night.
The Stars managed to shoot just 16.7 percent from the field in the first half, going 4-for-24 as the Stars fell behind by as many as 29-points in the first 20 minutes. The Stars scored the first four points of the second half to narrow the gap to 23 points at 39-16 but that's as close as they would get the rest of the way, trailing by as many as 39 points throughout the second half.
As a team, the Stars shot below 30 percent from the field, going 15-for-54 from the field and 1-for-14 from three-point range. The Cougars however, managed to 50 percent from the field in the game, including a blistering 57 percent in the first half. On the game, the Cougars also converted on 12 of their 13 attempts from the foul line.
The loss drops Dominican to 2-5 on the season and 0-2 in the NAC. The Stars will look to pick up their first NAC win on Saturday as they host Marian University at 4:15 p.m. in Dominican's Igini Sports Forum.
