River Forest, IL -
Michelle Reynoso (Burbank, IL) entered the game for Dominican University in the 24th minute and provided all the offense the Stars' would need as she broke a scoreless tie in the 31st minute to lift the Stars past the Edgewood College Eagles 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The score was Reynoso's fifth tally of the season and second game-winning goal of the season. Kelsy Holloway (Cape Girardeau, MO), a sophomore defender, picked up her first assist of the season as she served a ball across the box for Reynoso who one-touched a shot past the Eagles' goalkeeper.
Edgewood outshot the Stars 12-3 but the Stars' junior goalkeeper Jacqui Lani (Green Bay, WI) logged three saves as she picked up her third shutout of the season and the Stars improved their overall record to 8-1-0 on the season and remained unbeaten in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) at 7-0-0.
Dominican will travel to Mequon, Wis., on Tuesday to take on the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons before hosting Rockford College on Wednesday afternoon.
