Women's Volleyball Lands Four On All-NAC Teams

Moore named NAC Defensive Player of the Year

Megan Moore was named the 2009 NAC Defensive Player of the Year.

River Forest, Ill. - The Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) announced the 2009 All-NAC Teams with Dominican University's Megan Moore (Glendale Heights, Ill.), named NAC Defensive Player of the Year, leading four Stars on the NAC All-Conference First and Second Teams.

Moore, a senior libero for the Stars, averaged over four digs per set in leading the Stars to a three-way share of the NAC regular season title and a 21-13 overall record. The 5'4" Glendale Heights native closed out the 2009 campaign with 496 digs and climbing all the way to fourth on the Stars' all-time digs list with 1,719 digs over four seasons.

Junior Darcy Kammeier (Kirkwood, Mo.) and freshman Jacy Lawrence (St. Louis, Mo.) joined Moore on the All-NAC First Team while junior Kasey Kiepura (Vernon Hills, Ill.) garnered All-NAC Second Team honors. Kammeier makes her third appearance on the All-Conference First Team, posting a team-best 331 kills and 58 service aces. The 5'8" Missouri native ranked in the top five in the NAC in service aces and in the top ten in both kills and points.

Lawrence, a 5'10" outside hitter, averaged 2.45 kills and 2.44 digs per set while racking up 58 total blocks and 36 aces. As a freshman, Lawrence posted five double-doubles on the season, including a 16 kill, ten dig performance in the NAC Tournament Championship. In a huge regular season win over back-to-back defending conference tournament champion, Lakeland College, Lawrence posted a season-high 17 kills along with 12 digs.

Kiepura led the NAC with 125.0 total blocks and second in the conference in blocks per set. The 5'9" middle, amassed 28 solo blocks and 97 block assists. In addition, Kiepura racked up 210 kills as one of four Stars' players to finish the season with at least 200 kills.

As a team, Dominican went 10-2 in the NAC, en route to the program's first NAC championship and coming within one set of the program's first appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championships.
