The Dominican University women's tennis team fell in a pair of Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) dual matches on Saturday, dropping a 9-0 decision to the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors before managing one point in an 8-1 loss to the Alverno College Inferno. The loss drops the Stars to 0-11 on the season and 0-8 in the NACC.
Maya Banks tallied the Stars' lone point of the day, topping Alverno's Ashley Boston, 6-4, 6-2, at number five singles. The win was the second of the season for Banks.
"We played tough throughout the day but came up short," said Troy Tonsil, the Stars' head tennis coach. "We need to find more consistency as we close out the season next weekend. I was happy to see Maya battle and earn a hard-fought singles win despite being under the weather. I was proud of how she competed."
Dominican will close out the season next Saturday, traveling to Wisconsin to take on the MSOE Raiders and the Edgewood College Eagles.
