The Dominican University women's tennis team faced a tall task on Saturday, hosting two of the top teams in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) in the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks and the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons, the defending conference champions. The Stars drop both ends of the NACC duals by 9-0 scores.
"Probably the two best teams in the league visited us today," said Troy Tonsil, the Stars' head coach. "They both played extremely well and showed why they are at the top of the conference."
"We did have some good moments throughout the day," continued Tonsil, "but not enough to keep pace with the class of the conference. It is time to regroup and learn from our matches nad prepare for our non-conference slate next weekend."
The Stars will take a brief respite from league play next week, hosting Ripon College on Wednesday before traveling to Galesburg, Illinois, next Saturday for a pair of dual matches against Greenville University and Knox College.
