Candace Kipp earned all-tournament honors and helped the Dominican University women's bowling team to their first three wins of the season and a ninth-place finish at the Crusader Classic this weekend. Kipp averaged 191.83 over the Stars' six traditional rounds, topping two hundred three times, including a high score of 247 in Dominican's first program victory, a 766-734 win over North Central. For the tournament, Kipp placed fifth in the field of over 70 bowlers.
After going 1-9 over the first two days of the tournament, Dominican scored wins over Spalding University and North Central College on Sunday to place ninth out of the 11 teams at the tournament. Dominican's first championship bracket match saw the Stars top Spalding by a total pin count of 970-958. The Stars then knocked off North Central for the second time in as many days, taking down the Cardinals by a final score of 1,039-987.
Dominican will return to tournament play this weekend, traveling to Madison, Wisconsin, for the Warhawk Classic hosted by UW-Whitewater. Tournament play opens on Friday, November 8, and closes on Sunday, November 10.
