The Dominican University men's tennis team closed out the 2019 season on Monday afternoon, falling to the third-seeded MSOE Raiders in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Tournament Quarterfinals, 5-0. With the loss, the Stars drop to 6-9 on the season.
"Tough way to end the season," said Troy Tonsil, the Stars' head men's tennis coach. "We played well in moments, but MSOE proved to be the better team with quality players throughout their lineup. While you never want to see your season come to an end, there are areas we can grow to have success in the future. I'm looking forward to seeing our potential continue to evolve next season."
After sweeping through doubles action, the Raiders closed out the win with wins over the Stars'
Alexander Tobias at the number one singles flight and
Joshua Sapnu at number four singles.
The Raiders will move on to the NACC semifinals, taking on the second-seeded Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons on Sunday morning with the winner playing in the NACC Tournament Championship later that afternoon.
