Tyler Stibal was named the Athletics Operations Coordinator in the summer of 2023. His duties include the operations of all athletic facilities, management of student workers and sporting events, as well as being the administrator to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). He has also been tasked with facilitating greater fan engagement and "game day culture".
Stibal is from Southern California and moved to the Chicago area to attend Dominican in 2019. He graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Criminology and Sociology and a minor in Political Science in May of 2023 with a career GPA of 3.9.
During his four years at Dominican, Stibal was also one of the most successful golfers in program history. He served as team captain all four years and won team MVP twice.
Stibal served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee all four years during his undergraduate career and was voted SAAC President his senior year. He was also a member of the Diversity Council/Athletes Coalition on Connectedness (ACC) throughout his college career. In 2022, he won the Star's Unity Award which is given to an athlete who fulfills Dominican's mission of "creating a more just and humane world" through community service and efforts towards fostering greater diversity.
Aside from his role as a student-athlete, Stibal was served on Dominican University's Board of Trustees as a Student Trustee during his junior year. He also got to study abroad in South Africa and hold a variety of internships.
Stibal brings an extensive skill set to this his new position. He was a student-worker within the Athletics department which included the operation of facilities and running of sporting events on and off campus. Between this experience and the relationships he has built with staff, coaches, and other student-athletes over the past four years, Stibal will be a great addition to the Athletics department.
