The Dominican University women’s soccer team picked up its 11th win in as many games with a 3-0 win over the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons in Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) action on Saturday afternoon. The Stars now stand at 12-2-0 on the season and a perfect 9-0-0 in NAC play.
Nallely Arreola (Wheeling, Ill.) scored the eventual game-winner in just the sixth minute of play. The goal was Arreola’s third of the season and junior goalkeeper
Megan Schulz (Redford, Mich.) made sure it stood up, making five saves on the afternoon to pick up her eighth shutout of the season.
Kelly Petty (Crystal Lake, Ill.) and
Mary Hoemeyer (Hazelwood, Mo.) tallied second-half goals for the Stars in the winning effort.
Dominican will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Aurora University to take on the Spartans, the defending NAC champions. The Stars will be looking to avenge a pair of 1-0 overtime losses at the hands of the Spartans from last season, including a double-overtime loss in the 2009 NAC Women’s Soccer Tournament Championship match.
