Michelle Reynoso (Burbank, Ill.) blasted home a rebound to give the Dominican University women’s soccer team a 1-0 advantage in the 58
th minute and the Stars’ defense held strong as Dominican topped the Lake Forest College Foresters in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon.
Megan Schulz (Redford, Mich.) faced 12 shots, posting four saves to pick up her ninth shutout of the season, lowering her goals against average to 0.57. Schulz is now 12-4-0 on the season, with Dominican standing at 13-4-0 with just two regular season games remaining.
Freshman
Ashley Meyer (Evanston, Ill.) set up the game-winner, forcing Lake Forest's Bri Schleibinger to make a diving save that caromed right to the foot of Reynoso who netted her fifth goal of the season.
Dominican held a 14-12 advantage in shots, with both sides putting four shots on frame, while the Stars doubled-up the Foresters in corners, 8-4.
On Saturday, the Stars will travel to Milwaukee, Wis., to face the MSOE Raiders. Dominican will then close out the 2010 regular season on Wednesday, October 27, hosting the Alverno College Inferno for a 3:00 p.m. tilt on the Stars’ West Campus Field.
