With a three-set win over the Rockford College Regents (25-12, 25-21, 25-21) on Tuesday night, the Dominican University Stars advance to the semifinal round of the 2010 Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Women’s Volleyball Tournament.
Darcy Kammeier (Kirkwood, Mo.) did not want to see her collegiate career come to an end, pacing the Stars’ offense with a match-high 13 kills while posting an impressive .417 hitting percentage with just three errors on 24 total attempts. The three-time All-NAC first teamer added seven digs in the all-around effort in front of the home crowd.
Defensively, freshman
Mary Pollard (Naperville, Ill.) led the Stars with 11 digs while Dezelski added ten digs of her own. At the net, the Stars racked up eight total blocks led by Dezelski and Kiepura’s four block assists.
Dominican will host the Edgewood College Eagles in the NAC Tournament Semifinals on Thursday night. The Eagles rallied from a 2-0 deficit the beat the Marian University Sabres 19-25, 18-25, 25-14, 27-25, 15-9. First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m. in Dominican’s Igini Sports Forum.
