The Dominican University picked up their third Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) victory in as many tries, with a three-set (25-16, 25-20, 25-13) win over the Rockford College Regents in River Forest on Wednesday evening. The Stars now stand at 11-2 on the season and are riding a five-match win streak dating back to September 11.
Darcy Kammeier (Kirkwood, Mo.) led a balanced offensive attack for the Stars with nine kills on 22 attacks while committing just two hitting errors. Freshman Claire Dezelski (Northville, Mich.) added seven kills of her own while Jessica Guerrieri (Plainfield, Ill.) dished out 27 assists in the winning effort.
On defense, sophomore libero Liz Yakey (Sun Prairie, Wis.) held team-high honors with ten digs while Guerrieri, Kammeier and Kasey Kiepura (Vernon Hills, Ill.) logged two total blocks apiece.
The Stars will travel to Platteville, Wis., on Friday to take part in the UW-Platteville Volleyball Tournament. Dominican will battle Platteville and St. Norbert on Friday and then play Augustana College and UW-Stout on Saturday.
