The Dominican University men’s and women’s cross country teams ran at the 2011 Warrior Invitational on Saturday morning, with eight runners posting season-best times for the Stars.
Michelle Hall (Omaha, Neb.) paced the Stars’ women’s squad, placing 20
th overall and posting a season-best time of 26:22.88 on the 6K course at Greenfield Park in West Allis, Wis. Six runners in total posted season-best times for the Stars’ women’s cross country team.
Gabby Sherer (Bloomingdale, Ill.) placed 58
th with a time of 28:56.42 (a season-best) while
Janette Zetina (Montgomery, Ill.), Hanna Stilwell and
Pearlane DeGuzman (Morton Grove, Ill.) finished within 20 seconds of each other placing 66
th, 68
th and 70
th respectively.
As a team, the Stars finished 11
th out of 15 women’s teams, the squads best performance of the season.
In the men’s race,
Erwin Kehrt (Brookfield, Ill.) continued his strong season with a 31:40.95 8K performance. Kehrt placed 72
nd in the field of 115 runners.
Corey McClure (Hugo, Minn.) and
Neftali Alejandre (Chicago, Ill.) rounded out the Stars’ top three runners turning in times of 34:39.61 and 36:02.31 respectively.
The Stars’ cross country season continues next week, with the Stars running at the 2011 Lucian Rosa Invitational at the Dannehl National Cross Country Course, home of the 2011 Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Cross Country Championships.
