Box Score The Dominican University Stars were knocked out in the quarterfinals of the 2011 Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Women’s Soccer Tournament on Sunday, falling to the Edgewood College Eagles 1-0 in Madison, Wis. The loss brings the 2011 campaign to a close for the Stars, who finish up the season with a 10-8-1 overall mark under first year head coach Ellen Brown, going 8-3-1 in NAC action to finish in sixth place in the regular season standings.
It was Katie Pampuch’s fourth goal of the season that was the difference on Sunday. Pampuch collected Kristina Santaga’s shot that was deflected before beating Dominican’s
Megan Schulz (Redford, Mich.) for the lone goal of the match.
Schulz, a senior, logged four shots on the afternoon as Edgewood outshot the Stars’ 15-5, putting five shots on goal while the Stars did not have any shots on target.
The Eagles advance to the NAC semifinals where they will meet the Marian University Sabres while the Aurora University Spartans will host the MSOE Raiders in the other semifinal matchup. Those games are scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 2.
