Box Score After missing four games with an injury, Dominican University senior Kayla Blom (Circle Pines, Minn.) connected on her shot from the field to give the Stars women's basketball team an early 3-0, as Dominican cruised to an 86-71 victory over Alverno College in Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) action on Monday night. 

Blom finished the night with 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field. The Stars sharp-shooter continued to heat up from long distance, going 4-for-5 from behind the three-point stripe and is shooting over 52 percent from three on the season.  In fact, the Stars went 10-for-15 from three in the game. 

Sarah Budz (Orland Park, Ill.) paced the Stars in the winning effort with 18 points and six assists. The senior guard was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field to lead the Stars on a night the team shot near 70 percent from the field (30-for-43).  

The win pushes the Stars to 10-5 on the season and 6-2 in the NAC. Dominican will return to the court on Wednesday, traveling to Aurora University to take on the Spartans.  Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.  Dominicsn then returns home to take on the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors on Saturday afternoon.
