Box Score The Dominican University women's volleyball team proved to be too much for the Marian University Sabres, as the Stars roll into the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Tournament semifinals with a three-set (25-13, 25-15, 25-12) victory Tuesday night.
The Stars offense torched the Sabres, posting a .333 hitting percentage, led by senior
Jacy Lawrence's (St. Louis, Mo.) 11 kills on 24 swings with no hitting errors.
Caitlen Foote (Dexter, Mich.) added nine kills while
Claire Dezelski (Northville, Mich.) and
Becca Fritz (Mount Carroll, Ill.) chipped in seven kills apiece and
Alyssa Davis (Bloomington, Ill.) knocked down five.
The Stars well-balanced offensive attack was run through freshman setter
Christina Wilson (Homer Glen, Ill.) who dished out 28 assists and rounded out her team-leading eleventh double-double of the season with a match-high 14 digs.
The win puts the Stars (24-7) into the semifinals of the NAC Tournament where they will meet the second-seeded Benedictine University Eagles. The match is slated for a 7:00 p.m. in Lisle on Thursday night.
