Stars Dominant In Win Over Lakeland

Box Score The Dominican University women’s soccer team was dominant on Saturday afternoon, picking up their sixth Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) victory of the season with a 5-0 shutout victory over the Lakeland College Muskies.
 
Taylor Adler (Shorewood, Ill.) notched her second and third goals of the season, including what proved to be the game-winner in just the tenth minute.  The Stars’ freshman ripped a game-high eight shots, putting five on goal.
 
Leah Tednes (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) and Isabel Guzman (Berwyn, Ill.) also tallied goals for the Stars in the winning effort, the fourth of the season for Tednes and first collegiate goal for Guzman.
 
The Dominican defense allowed just one shot all afternoon, while the Stars managed to get off 28 shots, putting 17 on goal.
 
Sara Stepanovich (Des Plaines, Ill.) posted her fourth shutout in goal for the Stars this season.  The freshman now holds a 1.16 goals against average.
 
Dominican, now 7-6-0 overall and 6-2-0 in the NAC, return to the pitch on October 9, traveling to Elmhurst to take on the Elmhurst College Bluejays for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff under the lights.
