Box Score The Dominican University women's basketball team committed Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) record 43 turnovers on Saturday afternoon, falling to the North Central College Cardinals 110-68 in non-conference action.
The Stars had previously held the record for most turnovers in a game committed by a NAC, committing 42 turnovers in a 73-61 loss at Beloit College back in November of 2006, the first-year of the conference.
Dominican held a 9-5 lead after
Kaylee Paciora (Scottsdale, Ariz.) scored six straight points before the turnovers began to pile up.
North Central went on a 20-6 run to open a ten-point lead, 25-15, with 8:52 to play in the first half and never looked back.
The Stars, led by
Katie Budz's (Orland Park, Ill.) season-high 20 points, shot over 40-percent from the field (25-for-62), but could not overcome all the turnovers and 30 offensive rebounds grabbed by the Cardinals.
Larynn Shumaker led five players in double-figures for the Cardinals, scoring 16 points off the bench.
Dominican University will travel to Rock Island, Ill., on Tuesday, taking on the Augustana College Vikings in a 7:00 p.m. tipoff in non-conference action. The Stars will then enjoy an 11-day break between games, traveling to Salem, Ma., to play in the Salem State Holiday Classic on December 29 and 30.
