Stars Overpowered By NAC Frontrunner

Box Score The Dominican University women’s basketball team was outmanned on Wednesday night, falling to the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) South Division leading Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors 84-52.
 
The Warriors, who forced the Stars into 28 turnovers and grabbed 16 offensive rebounds, managed nearly 30 more shots than the Stars, converting on 34-for-73 attempts from the field, while Dominican managed to convert at just a 15-for-45 clip.
 
Alyssa Allister paced fifteen players that scored for the Warriors, dropping in 12 points on 4-for-5 shooting in the winning effort.  Melanie Laete added 11 for Wisconsin Lutheran in just 16 minutes of action.
 
Dominican was led by Katie Budz’s (Orland Park, Ill.) 11 points and three assists.  The Stars’ junior guard was just 2-for-10 from the floor but managed to convert on all six of her attempts from the charity stripe.  It was the fifth time this season the 5’1 Budz has paced the Stars’ offense.
 
The Stars return to the hardwood on Saturday, traveling to Mequon, Wis., to take on the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons, the top team in the NAC North Division.  Tipoff is slated for 2:00 p.m.
