Box Score The Dominican University women's volleyball team made quick work of the visiting Alverno College Inferno Saturday evening, finishing off the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) foe in just 55 minutes, 25-10, 25-17, 25-10.
Claire Dezelski (Northville, Mich.) who was honored during the match for becoming just the seventh player in Dominican University history to rack up 1,000 kills, led the Stars with a match-high nine kills on just 19 attempts. Dezelski posted a .421 hitting percentage as she committed just one error.
Freshmen
Tessa Griparis (Shorewood, Ill.) and
Maddi Zanoni (Hudsonville, Mich.) added six and five kills respectively as eight players logged kills for the Stars on the night.
Defensively, the Stars forced the Inferno into 22 attack errors, holding Alverno to a -.047 hitting percentage.
With the win, Dominican improves to 16-9 on the season and 5-1 in the NACC. The Stars will be back in action on Tuesday night, taking the short trek down Division Street to take on Dominican's neighborhood rival, the Concordia University Chicago Cougars. Match is set for a 7:00 p.m. start.
