Box Score The Dominican University women's volleyball team cruised to a three-set victory on Tuesday night, dominating their River Forest rival, the Concordia University Chicago, 25-14, 25-13, 25-15. The Stars were firing on all cylinders, posting a blistering .414 hitting percentage for the match.
Claire Dezelski (Northville, Mich.) led the Dominican offensive attack with 12 kills to just one error on 29 total swings. Freshman
Carri Chambers (Winnebago, Ill.) added 11 kills while
Tessa Griparis (Shorewood, Ill.) and
Maddi Zanoni (Hudsonville, Mich.) knocked down six and seven kills respectively.
The Stars' well-balanced offense was run by sophomore setter
Christina Wilson (Homer Glen, Ill.) who finished the night with 28 assists, four kills and seven digs.
The win pushes the Stars to 17-9 overall and 6-1 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC). The Stars return to the court on Friday night, hosting the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start in the Stars' Igini Sports Forum.
