Box Score The Dominican University women's volleyball team rebounded from a first set loss to top the Lakeland College Muskies 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-13) in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) action in Sheboygan, Wis., on Saturday night.
Claire Dezelski (Northville, Mich.), the reigning NACC Student-Athlete of the Week, powered the Stars' offense with 19 kills on 43 swings while committing just four errors for a .349 hitting percentage. The Stars' standout senior rounded out her 18
th double-double of the season with a team-high 18 digs.
Maddi Zanoni (Hudsonville, Mich.) added nine kills in the winning effort for the Stars while
Tessa Griparis (Shorewood, Ill.) and
Caitlen Foote (Dexter, Mich.) knocked down seven kills apiece. Sophomore setter
Christina Wilson (Homer Glen, Ill.) ran the Stars' offense, dishing out 37 assists.
Defensively, Wilson collected 17 digs while
Becky Honerlaw (Waukesha, Wis.) added 14 digs.
As a team, Dominican posted seven total blocks, led by
Alyssa Davis's (Bloomington, Ill.) four block assists.
For the match, the Stars posted a .207 hitting percentage while holding the Muskies to a .067 attack percentage with 29 hitting errors.
The win closes out the regular season portion of Dominican's schedule. The Stars are currently 21-9 overall and went 10-1 in NACC play to claim the two-seed in the upcoming NACC Women's Volleyball Tournament. Dominican will host a NACC quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday, November 5, with the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors coming to River Forest to meet the Stars.
