Box Score The Dominican University women's basketball team played their final non-conference tune-up before opening Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Saturday, falling to the visiting Albion College Britons on Tuesday evening 84-67.

The Stars were outrebounded 41-24, giving up 16 offensive rebounds that led to 20 second-chance points and 54 points in the paint.

Darian Payne led the Britons offensive charge, pouring in 20 points on 8-for-17 shooting while pulling down 13 boards.

Allie Tapanes (Winfield, Ill.) paced the Stars on the offensive end, scoring 18 points, ten in the first half as she went 3-for-6 from the field, 2-for-5 from three in the opening half. Playing 38 minutes on the night, the Stars' sophomore guard tired in the second half, shooting 2-for-9 from the field, missing her lone three-point attempt.Â
Haley Tyler (Nenana, Alaska) added 13 points for the Stars in the losing effort while
Kaylee Paciora (Scottsdale, Ariz.) added ten points despite being limited to 21 minutes due to foul trouble.

The loss drops Dominican to 0-4 on the season. The Stars will travel up to Fond du Lac, Wis., on Saturday to take on the Marian University Sabres, opening a stretch of six NACC games, including home tilts with Rockford, Lakeland and Aurora. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:15 p.m.
