Box Score The Dominican University women's basketball team dropped a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) road game on Tuesday evening, falling to the Alverno College Inferno 86-55 in Milwaukee.
After a see-saw first half that saw eight lead changes, the Inferno used an 8-2 run over the final 2:45 of the opening half to open a 43-32 lead at the break.
The Stars were able to keep pace in the first half by matching the Inferno's offensive efficiency. The Stars shot 44.8-percent in the opening half, going 13-for-29 from the field with
Kaylee Paciora (Scottsdale, Ariz.) scoring nine of her 12 points in the half.
The Inferno continued its run over the first five minutes of the second half to open a 21-point lead, 56-35, with 15:21 to play and coasted to the finish.
The Stars finished the game shooting 34.5-percent from the field, 20-for-58, led by
Allie Tapanes's (Winfield, Ill.) team-high 15 points.
Dominican will return to Milwaukee on Saturday to take on the MSOE Raiders. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. in the Raiders' Kern Center.
