Box Score The Dominican University women's basketball team led 31-28 at the half before being outscored 57-42 in the second half spoiled the Stars bid for a win Saturday afternoon, as Dominican fell to the visiting Lakeland College Muskies 85-73.
The Muskies came out and shot 53.6-percent (15-28) from the field, including a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point distance, after the break. The Stars sent the Muskies to the line 26 times in the half with Lakeland converting on 23 attempts.
Katie Budz (Orland Park, Ill.) led five players in double figures for the Stars with 16 points in the losing effort. The Stars' senior guard added nine assists, narrowly missing her second double-double of the season.
Haley Tyler (Nenana, Alaska) added 13 points while
Elieza Claudio (Romeoville, Ill.) came off the bench to drop in 12 points.
The Muskies' second half comeback was led by Leah Eisner who scored 12 of her team-high 16 points after the break.
The loss drops the Stars to 0-7 on the season and 0-3 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. Dominican returns to action on Tuesday, traveling up to Milwaukee, Wis., to take on the Alverno College Inferno. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
