Set two proved a little more challenging with Rockford opening up a 9-6 lead before the Stars rattled off seven straight points capped by a kill by Caitlen Foote (Dexter, Mich.), the 2012 NACC Freshman of the Year, to pull out to 13-9 lead. Dominican led the rest of the set to take a two-set lead.

Set three was tied 15-15 when Carri Chambers (Winnebago, Ill.) stepped back to serve back-to-back points for Dominican with a service ace followed by a kill by fellow freshman Tessa Griparis (Shorewood, Ill.). After a Rockford sideout, Dominican strung together two more points to open a 19-16 lead and then scored six of the last eight points to close out the three-set victory.

Griparis added ten kills for the Stars while Claire Dezelski (Northville, Mich.) knocked down nine. The Stars' offense ran through setter Becky Honerlaw (Waukesha, Wis.) who dished out 27 assists.

Defensively, Cheyanne Kelly (Kalamazoo, Mich.) tallied a match-high 27 digs while Foote added ten for her seventh double-double effort of the season. Griparis got in on five of Dominican's eight total blocks with two solo blocks and three block assists.
