The Dominican University women's soccer team ended the regular season on a winning note and will ride a three-match winning streak into the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Tournament after slipping past the Concordia University Chicago Cougars, 1-0, on Tuesday afternoon.

Leah Tednes (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) tallied the lone goal of the match, her 12
th of the season, breaking a scoreless tie in the 78
th minute. Tednes got on the end of a ball played through the Cougars' back line by teammate
Kelli Iovino (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and cut one defender in the box before lifting a shot from 15-yards out that sailed over the Concordia Chicago goalkeeper and into the back of the goal.

After an even first half, Dominican, playing for the chance to host a NACC quarterfinal match, outshot the Cougars 6-3 in the second half and 11-8 for the match.

Sara Stepanovich (Des Plaines, Ill.) logged five saves in the winning effort to post her fourth shutout of the season.

The Stars, now 11-7-0, go into the NACC Tournament as the number four-seed and will host the Marian University Sabres in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
