Box Score The Dominican University women's basketball team fell in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) action on Tuesday night, falling to the visiting Alverno College Inferno, 87-57, in River Forest.
The Inferno led from wire to wire, shooting near 48 percent from the field (31-for-65) behind 30 points from senior Jamie Hoernke on 8-for-16 shooting while going 14-for-17 from they foul line.
Alverno took 38 attempts from the foul line, converting on 24 while the Stars made just 15 trips to the free throw line, connecting on ten.
Haley Tyler (Neenah, Alaska) led the Stars with 12 points and five rebounds in the losing effort. Tyler took just five shots in 22 minutes due to foul trouble but converted on seven of nine attempts from the foul line. Claudia DeNigris (Addison, Ill.) added ten points, all in the final 3:12, while Kaylee Paciora (Scottsdale, Ariz.) scored 11 points off the bench.
Dominican will be back in action on Saturday, traveling up to Mequon, Wis., to take on the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:15 p.m.
