Box Score The Dominican University Stars, picked second in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) preseason coaches' poll, had their hands full in their conference opener on Tuesday night, falling behind the Aurora University Spartans 2-0 before rallying for a thrilling five set (19-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-19, 15-13) win at Aurora.

Christina Wilson (Homer Glen, Ill.) ran a balanced Dominican University attack, dishing out 51 assists with four Stars logging double-digit kills in the winning effort. As a team, Dominican hit .242 paced by
Caitlen Foote's (Dexter, Mich.)Â 17 kills.Â
Tessa Griparis (Belleair, Fla.) added 14 kills on 34 swings while
Maddi Zanoni (Hudsonville, Mich.) and
Carri Chambers (Winnebago, Ill.) collected 13 and ten kills respectively.

Defensively, Dominican posted 13.5 blocks, with Griparis and
Kendyl Todd (Crete, Ill.) in on six total blocks apiece. In the back row,
Cheyanne Kelly (Kalamazoo, Mich.) logged a team-high 19 digs while Foote rounded out her fifth straight double-double with 17 digs.

The win pushes the Stars to 6-5 on the season and 1-0 in the NACC. Dominican is back in action this weekend, traveling down to Bloomington, Illinois, to take part in the Barker Chevy Classic hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University. The Stars will take on Knox College and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Friday before closing out the tournament on Saturday with Anderson University and the host Titans.
