The Dominican University men's basketball team dropped their fifth straight, falling to the Edgewood College Eagles, 64-56, in Madison, Wisconsin, on Wednesday evening.
Â
The Stars trailed just 28-27 at the break but managed just one field goal, two points, over the first 6:55 of the second half while the Eagles built up a 39-29 lead.
Â
Dominican refused to go quietly, pulling to within six on three separate occasions, including 60-54 with under two minutes to play but the Eagles, who went 13-for-17 at the foul line in the game, converted on all four of their free throws in the final 35 seconds.
Â
Quinn Pokora (Mundelein, Ill.) led three players in double figures for the Stars with 13 points on 5-for-12 shooting from the field. Freshman
Tim Robertson (Chicago, Ill.) chipped in 12 points while
Ryan Modiest (Joliet, Ill.) came off the bench to score 11 points, all in the second half.
Â
Dominican will be back in action on Saturday, hosting the Lakeland College Muskies for a 4:15 p.m. tipoff in the Igini Sports Forum.Â
