The Dominican University men's volleyball team continued its trip to Massachusetts on Sunday, sweeping a tri-match from Lasell and Endicott Colleges in Newton, Massachusetts. The Stars hit .310 for the day paced by
Mason Solbrig (Lindenhurst, Ill.), who collected 21 kills in the pair of three-set victories.
In the win over the host Lasell Lasers (25-23, 25-21, 25-22),
Luke Spicer (St. Charles, Ill.) led the Stars' attack, collecting 13 kills on 29 attacks while committing just three errors. Solbrig added 12 kills of his own on just 16 attacks with
Alex Coyne (Naperville, Ill.) collecting 40 assists in the winning effort.
Defensively,
Robert Mead (Darien, Ill.) and
Brad McFarland (Tinley Park, Ill.) led the way with 13 and 14 digs respectively while,
Jeremy Royko (Naperville, Ill.) finished the day with nine kills, seven digs and three block assists.
In the sweep of Endicott (25-21, 25-21, 25-21), Solbrig continued his efficient play with nine kills on 13 swings while McFarland stepped up with a team-high ten kills.
The Stars now stand at 10-7 overall and wrap up their trip on Tuesday evening with a 7:00 p.m. EST match at #13 MIT.
